When an island goes to a book launch

You’ve heard of symbiotic relationships? Between Peaks Island and Longfellow Books in Portland runs an underwater cable of unfettered creativity and affection. And most of us can’t even wait for Scott Nash to start reading before we dive into the romping rhythms of Shrunken Treasures’ poetry.

Written by Patricia Erikson, Peaks Island Press offers behind-the-scenes glimpses of a vibrant, literary community perched on Peaks Island, two miles off the coast of the beautiful and award-winning city of Portland, Maine.
